"married" christmas part two

so a few months ago, when i decided to attend RCIA classes with the intent of becoming catholic, deacon mark mentioned that roger and i could receive the sacrament of marriage in a convalidation ceremony since we were not married in the church.  since jill was in town, we wanted to do this when we could include her - and we had a bonus with jeanne and marc!

a pre-wedding kiss with my other fave guy

we joked that max and josie are going to get married next and they stood at the altar with us almost the whole time.  they were so so adorable.

thank you to the family and friends who were there - jill, jeanne, marc, mom, dad, jenny, colin, jack, josie, winnell, captain, deacon mark's wife (anna) and my sponsor, rachel.  thank you to jeanne and jenny who did readings!

my fave moment from the ceremony: deacon mark asked us to join hands.  when he looked up and saw how i was holding roger's hand, he commented, "sharyn, a little less like shaking hands..."  ok, ok.  in my 2nd marriage to roger, i will try a little harder not to be the guy in the relationship...  ;-)

flashback 30(!) years ago at my grandparent's 40th anniversary party:
and this little girl is after my own heart:

we had everyone back at our house for dinner and cupcakes.

after two days of hosting and cooking, we spent a very refreshing sunday at the farmer's market and out to lunch at blanco.

and then back home to relax, do art projects and watch football.

max asleep on roger's lap.  <3

bedtime stories with nana on her last night.  max cuddled up and put his arm around her.

it was a fabulous weekend with family and friends.  loved loved loved having jill, jeanne and marc here!!  i'm so so happy to be MORE married to roger.  :-)  and to top it all off:
i came in first place in my fantasy football league!!  woohoo!

"married" christmas part one

what a phenomenal christmas again this year!  on tuesday, we ran a few errands and picked up some friends in our target cart:
the kids were super sweet and kept saying that they were a family and loved each other.

this WAS the minion gingerbread house that we built.  until george ate it.  yup.  the whole thing.  oh, george.

tuesday night, nana arrived!!!  the kids were so excited to have her here.

we spent wednesday cooking and baking.  all day.  but i had a great time with jill in the kitchen and a lot of yummy dishes as a result.  :-)

max frosting the cookies all by himself.  notice that not all the frosting made it onto the cookies...

uncle alan also came to tucson!!  he helped the kids prep the big foot chia pet he brought them.

so, during almost every meal, max will at some point disappear under the table saying he has to "fix" the table or his chair.  we thought he was just pretending.  when we opened the table to put in the leaf, we found he was quite serious about using his tools to fix the table...

merry christmas!!  a TON of pictures, so i tried to keep the number down in my post.  thank you thank you to auntie elaine and jeanne for taking pictures throughout the weekend!

max's christmas gift to us:

santa gave ella the cheetah stuff and yellow magnatiles she asked for!

he also brought max "lunch."

uncle marc was thoroughly entertained with the magnatiles.  :-)

roger worked so so so hard on building a custom, from-scratch dollhouse for ella.  it turned out so beautifully and she was surprised and super happy with it!

we gave my dad a pillow with him holding all 3 of his newborn grandkids.  seriously wearing the same sweatshirt in all 3 pictures.  the best part was that he couldn't tell which kid was which without looking at the background of the pics to see whose house it was in...

the front of the dollhouse - with a 2 story porch!

what would a bissmeyer christmas be without a toy that produces farting noises?

love love love our family so much and thankful to spend the day with all of them.  merry christmas!!!!
