christmas 2022 part three: capy holidays to you!

This was supposed to be part of Max's Christmas present, but I found out this farm would be moving the week after Christmas...  Max has been talking about capybaras non-stop - they are the world's largest rodent and oddly cute.  So I found this little farm that had a normal petting zoo and "exotics" - like capybaras!!  On Friday morning, Susie the Elf brought him a capybara pillow and instructions to go to a specific address.  When we arrived, we went on a "Capybara Lovers Experience" which gave us 15 minutes of private time with both the babies and the adults.

See?  They're kind of cute.  These are the babies - 3 months old.

Max feeding them lettuce

Were you the guy who ate my shoe lace???

I couldn't stop taking pictures of them...

After 15 minutes of using "self-defense lettuce" to try to get the babies from eating our pants (and the rest of our shoes...), we moved on to the adults.

They were super chill in comparison...

Then we went on a tour of the farm, that put us back in with the capybaras.

They had several tortoises!

And I can't remember what kind of animal she was, but super cute (her name was Munchkin).

And a porcupine!

Before one last visit with the baby capys!

We stopped to feed the chickens and the goats before heading out.

No, Max.  You are NOT getting a baby goat.

Then, we went to Nana's for cookie decorating and a delicious burger dinner!!

christmas 2022 part two: pizza party

We were super excited to host Nana, Jeanne, Marc, William and Charlotte for a fun afternoon enjoying the glorious Arizona sun and Roger's pizza!

Thank you for capturing all of these action shots, Miss Ella!!

Roger's been enjoying his new Ooni and making his own pizza dough from scratch, his fresh sauce and customizing toppings for everyone!!

Marc and Max managed the Ooni, making sure it reached the optimum temperature.

Meanwhile, William and Charlotte helped to top the first pizza!

Thank you, Jeanne for taking some beautiful shots - and the reminders to appreciate our daily sunrises and sunsets!!

And the fun after-dinner cousin time.  Just love it all.

Ending the perfect afternoon with snuggles from Gus.  I don't think this was his idea, but he acquiesced and it was wonderful.
