and so our school year has begun. we are remote learning for now, which means i am their cruise director. a crabby cruise director at that. the kids are given their daily itineraries...i mean schedules... and i run back and forth between each making sure they or on their calls - math meetings, read alouds, even speech (max), PE (which they have convinced me to participate), library, music, art and band. yes. band. ella is playing the drums. at home!!! so here goes. this school year will be one for the books. hope we all learn something...
LOVE ella's ingenuity. she FaceTimes with Hailey a few times a week. she used an old marker box, cut a hole in it for the bottom so she can plug in the charger if needed, then attached linking toys to the top so she can hang it in various places in her room. now she has a hands-free way of FaceTiming!!

as part of a school fundraiser, ella and hailey picked out dragon mugs to paint from home via FaceTime.
els in PE. poor girl. it's done via livestream, so the kids can see their PE teacher, but not each other and he cannot see the kids - so basically like my mirror. she was skipping around her room alone going "this is so silly."
proud of you guys. you are proactive and responsible about getting your assignments turned in, you are engaged in your online lessons. we have begun to see a few friends here and there - thankful for the pool which allows us to have "playdates" outside and keep social distancing. i cannot tell you how much i love the pool - floating around on a pool noodle, margarita in one hand and waterproof kindle in the other - it will be a sad day when it starts to get "cold" around here. but i think nobody loves the pool more than piper.
and with the world in its current state, i've signed up for some virtual half marathons (i'm registered now for what will be my 40th and last! fingers crossed!!!!). but for now, i completed number 37 - the lululemon seawheeze virtual half marathon. jenny and i ran from Starbucks, up old spanish trail, two and a half miles into the monument (saguaro national park) and back. super hilly course, but we have decided we need out and backs (mentally, saying we only have 6.5 miles to go and then just head back sounds a lot better). we finished in 2:57 and i'm not complaining anymore. we have slowed down considerably since we first began this challenge. but i'm thankful that i can still run. no. jog. kind of. i'm thankful for my bestie who is next to me the whole way. i'm thankful for the support of my hubby and kiddos (ella wrote my a sweet note and stuck it in my running pack - i kept it as my "bib" for this race. 3 left to go!!!!!
